In truth the home side held the upper hand and made good use of the breeze to lead 0-8 to 0-2 at the break although Eoin Martin continued his recent good form by scoring the 1st point of the game on 2 minutes.

When Drumconrath scored their 2nd through Sean McMahon after 18 minutes the home side had pointed 4 times at that stage. During the remaining 12 minutes of the half they doubled their tally to lead by 6 at the break.

Drumconrath opened the 2nd half scoring within the 1st minute when Conor O'Halloran pointed and soon after Paddy Carolan left 4 points between the sides but soon Moynalty had added 3 points of the own.

The game continued in a similar frame as Gavin Finnegan, Daniel Myles (2) and Tomas Conlon all added point but the sending off of Thomas Carolan and the loss of influential substitute Alan McEvoy hindered Drumconrath's attempted comeback as Moynalty added 5 points to the growing tally.
