From Ardcath to Villa Park

Seamus Brady

Big news from the Premier League in the past week was the appointment of Tim Sherwood as Aston Villa manager. Even bigger news for the followers of St Vincents Ardcath was the appointment of Seamus Brady as the club performance analyst.

The former Spurs performance analyst has worked with some of the world's most renowned players, including Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Rafael van der Vaart and our own record-breaking international goalscorer Robbie Keane. He now gets the chance to analyse household names like N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor and Benteke at Villa.

Seamus left behind the maroon and white of his club St Vincents to follow a career in sports science and professional football coaching. He was appointed as full-time reserve team analyst working alongside Clive Allen at Spurs in 2007 and was subsequently promoted to the first team position in 2008.

After a poor run of results Tim Sherwood replaced Paul Lambert in the hot seat and first appointments was that of Brady as the club performance analyst.

The Ardcath man is a staunch Meath supporter. He played underage with the 'Vincents' and coached the clubs juvenile teams along with the school team. His brother Ciaran won a Junior B championship medal with the Ardcath club in 2003.

Maybe someday in the near future Seamus could be doing a premier league match performance on James Finnerty. The promising Skryne underage footballer has signed a three-year deal with the Villa Park outfit. He joins the club in July.
