Meath Ladies will take on Down in Round 3 of the Tesco Homegrown National Ladies Football League.
In the corresponding fixture last year the girls in green and gold were defeated by a last minute point. Another close and exciting game is expected.
The Meath management team should know a good bit about the Mourne County girls. New Meath manager, and former Mayo great, Diane O'Hora was coach to the Down team last year.
After a disappointing 1-11 to 2-9 opening round defeat to Kildare, Meath bounced back to earn a share of the spoils against Clare in Kilmihill in round 2. Down won the All Ireland Intermediate football championship last year but have struggled to find any form in their opening two games losing to Westmeath 7-19 to 0-4 (round 1) and to Donegal 6-16 to 0-7 in round 2.
