Look: are these the worst conditions ever for a hurling game?

Where's the sliothar

St Loman's in Mullingar hosted the North Leinster Post Primary SH 'C1' final yesterday and we've never seen a game of hurling played in so much snow.

Our photographer was on hand to record the events as the students from Castlepollard CC and St Peter's Dunboyne went head to head.

Most of the time was spent trying to figure out where the sliotar was but the Westmeath lads mastered the conditions better as they took the honours.

In fairness to the referee and officials the weather wasn't too bad as the match got underway on the 3G surface but heavy snow started to fall during the game and that's when the fun began.

As you can see from  the 'before and after' photos above, things got a little tasty as the game wore on.
