St Pats own 'Super Six'

January 22, 2015

Brian Farrelly, J.P Ryan, Brian Calvey, Thomas Reilly, Daithi Finnegan and Neil O'Flaherty (missing from photo) picked up four county medals at the club 's Dinner Dance.

Five Star Hurlers

A very special mention to our 'Famous Six' of Brian Farrelly, J.P Ryan, Brian Calvey, Thomas Reilly, Daithi Finnegan and Neil O'Flaherty who, while representing the club in both codes of our games, picked up four
county medals each. The lads were part of the Junior C Football Championship, the Junior Hurling Championship, the Division 3 Football 'B' league and Division 3 Hurling league  winning teams of 2014 as well as semi-finalist of the Leinster junior special hurling championship . It is a fantastic achievement by the lads and all those involved with the teams to be winning at both football and hurling. it is a feat that will be hard matched but the gauntlet has been thrown down for future teams to match, and hopefully better, and with the numbers of juveniles now representing the club there is no reason why this can't be done. But for now we celebrate the lads in their achievement.

Gala Dinner Presentation 2014

We held our Adult Gala Dinner dance back in December in City North Hotel to celebrate the season that was had in 2014.  A great turn out for the club probably one of, if not the best season the club has had in a very long time & a worthy celebration for all.  We thank City North Hotel for hosting & serving us a wonderful dinner, to the band who had everybody out in their feet dancing to great hits and tunes. Our PRO Gareth McDonnell was their to capture the moments which include the montage "It Was A Very Good Year" which are available to view on our Facebook page. All winning teams from the hurling double winners to the B League & Junior C Championship were awarded their respective medals.  Individual awards went to Senior Footballer for 2014 Niall Mooney, Junior Footballer Adam Byrne, U21 Footballer David McQuillan, Hurler of the year went to the outstanding J.P Ryan, Ladies LGFA award went to Kim Saurin, while Club Person of the year for 2014 went to John Finnegan. Best Championship Performances 2014 - Team & Indiviual

To win a final needs one or two players to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and in that Hoganstand picked out five men who did just that in Peader Byrne, Alan Forde, Michael Dunne, Jake Regan and our own Hotshot Barry Campbell.  Each one a deserving winner of any acolade for a best championship performance. For Barry Turned back the years to give a fine display in the Junior C drawn final against Blackhall Gaels at Pairc Tailteann. Hit four fine points as Pats forced a draw & gave a good account of himself in the replay. In the end the panel choose O'Mahoney's Forde for the acolade. While in the Club of the Year on the playing field The club - the grassroots of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Four rose to the top in 2014, those been Dunboyne, Kiltale, Ballinlough & ourselves St.Patricks Gaa. St Patricks enjoyed a very prosperous year in 2014. The club's hurlers rose from Junior 2 to Intermediate in two years as they stunned Kildalkey to take home the Junior Hurling Championship. The Junior C title was won after a final replay victory over Blackhall Gaels. There was also success in the Division 3 HL and the Division 3A Reserve FL. Again four great clubs that had great season in 2014, anyone could of won this award but the again St.Pats losing out to a very club Kiltale side for their stunning display against Trim in the county final. What will 2015 bring ?
