"Gooch" Launches "Licence To Bank"

On Wednesday last Colm "Gooch" Cooper AIB Youth Ambassador & Kerry legend visited St Ciarans Community School Kells Co Meath to help launch their AIB Build a Bank Challange and give some football tips.

The AIB Build a Bank challange is now well underway in seconday schools across Ireland.

TY Students set up and manage their own bank with the support of AIB staff and they are responsible for sourcing new customers opening new accounts, encouraging regular savings and exploring new ways to bank, such as AIB phone & internet Banking.

Colm took time out on Wednesday to visit the "Licence to Bank" team of Ben Lynch, Sean King, Cian Flanagan, Liam Murray, Cormac Lindsey and Ryan Norton to  help launch their bank. He met with the team to offer ideas to help promote the bank and tips on the overall best practices in banking.

He complimented the lads on their work so far in achieving sponsorship from local businesses which they advertise on their Facebook page and also praised The Hogan Stand website for helping the lads promote their bank before signing 2 specially made up jerseys donated from Masita Sportwear which take in the School colours and Promote "Licence to bank" across the front of the jerseys.

Colm then took time out to hold a coaching  session for members of the school team, passing on his skills and knowledge to the future GAA stars.

Before saying saying goodbye he still had time to retire to the staff room for a well deserved cup of tea and biscuits with Teaching staff.
