Schools: St. Declans ease to title

Nothing easy in the Girls Division 3 final as Fia Henry (Whitecoss) and Serena Ola ( St Declans) collide at Pairc Tailteann.

St Declans NS Ashbourne eased to the Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol Girls Division 1 Shield Football title with a comparehensive win Whitecross at Pairc Tailteann.

These teams met in an earlier round and the Whitecross girls emerged victorious.

St Declans led at half time 1-3 to 0-2. Holly Brennan kicked two fine points to give Whitecross an early lead but Declans hit back with a Katie Carragher goal and points from Sinead Bolger Yale and Serena Ola to go in at the break four points to the good.

It was all St Declans in the second half. Points from Carragher and Ola were quickly followed by goals from Aoife Flood, Carragher and Miyat Muritala to seal a comfortable win.
