Harry Corscadden  got the games opening score for Meath Hill when he finished to the net after five minutes. Dunsany hit back to take the lead with a Liam McIntyre gaol and a point from the outstanding Jack Cottrell. But they proved to be their only scores of the opening half as Meath Hill took over. 1-3 from captain Cormac Sheehy and a  goal from John Kieran gave the boys in Blue and White a 3-3 to 1-1 interval lead.
