Clare footballers will be boosted by the recruitment of former Dublin footballer Pat Burke for 2015.

Kilmacud Crokes clubman Burke has agreed to switch his county allegiance along with former Meath goalkeeper Michael Ahern.

Burke, whose father played for Clare, and Dunshaughlin clubman Ahern qualify for Colm Collins' side under the parentage rule.

Collins will also be able to call on the services of hurler Liam Markham who has followed in the footsteps of Sean and Podge Collins and Cathal McInerney by committing solely to the Banner footballers.

Markham, who was also a member of Davy Fitzgerald's All-Ireland winning squad 12 months ago, captained Cratloe to Clare SHC success last Sunday week.
