About Slane GFC Pick a Winner:

Slane GFC Pick a Winner (aka PAW) first started in 2011. The purpose of the competition is to raise funds for the Juvenile section (boys and girls) of Slane GFC. In recent years, the Slane GFC juvenile section has provided the opportunity for boys and girls from the age of 5 to participate in Gaelic games, and for a small Village we frequently see over 120 kids meeting up and having fun each Sunday morning and throughout the week. That is a lot of footballs!

We have 3 PAW legends so far; Larry Roche (2011 - 45pts), Peter Fleming (2012 - 35 pts), & Canice Courtney (2013 - 41 pts).

Like the Irish people, PAW has spread far and wide with Slane folk and friends in the US, Australia, France, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Canada and many others. Winning PAW requires knowledge of the game, a well thought out strategy over 10 weeks, and courage under immense pressure from us "the Gang", to steer a straight course through the 10 weeks.

Dates for the diary:

·         The Slane GFC AGM will be held in Slane National School at 8pm on Thursday 20th November 2014.

              The Slane GFC Christmas Social Night will be held in The Conyngham Arms Hotel on Saturday 6th December 2014. More details to follow.
