JHC: St. Pats earns final spot

September 09, 2014

The St pats squad for the clash with Boardsmill.

St. Pats 3:13
Boardsmill 1:11

In the Semi final of the "David Grey Catering" Hurling Championship St. Pats faced a well fancied Boardsmill team which was played in Kilmessan. Hoping for a performance that would enable them to make another Final where Kildalkey were waiting at the other end. An exciting game to watch with Boardsmill taking the first score however Pats were back level & just shading the 1st half by 4pts. Half time : St. Pats 2:06 Boardsmill 0:08

In the 2nd half it was Boardsmill who took the first 2 scores with a goal & a pt putting them back on terms in quick succession however the Pats up'd their game after this and brilliantly took their scores after the introducting of several Pats substutions.

With Boardsmill reduced to 14 men St. Patricks team defended more superior and the forwards attacked with the same passion and eventually were in no doubt of the result in the last 15 mins even though Boardsmill never gave up the fight till the end. St.Pats kept taken their scores and ran out worthy winners. A great win in the end with Kildalkey waiting in the final. Final score St.Pats 3:13 - Boardsmill 1:11.
