Ratoath's Golden Oldies go Head to Head for Laura Lynn

September 05, 2014

All for a good cause.

Ratoath GAA club is the place to be next Saturday the 13th of September as the village's over 35 year old Royals and Dubs face off in a charity GAA Challenge game to raise money for The Laura Lynn Foundation which is Ireland's only Children's Hospice.

Both teams have been training hard for the past six weeks and rivalry is reaching fever pitch with bragging rights for the months ahead very much at stake. Chances are the winners won't be overly modest in victory as they collect the inaugural Kevin Ducie Trophy after the game. The Artane Boys Band will play the teams onto the field of dreams and bbq food and refreshments will be available from the clubhouse.

A large crowd is expected and through local business support, player sponsor cards and match day programme it is hoped that the event will raise €6,000- €8,000 for this very worthy charity. Many thanks to Dave and Ann Tormey in the Auld Stand who are the main sponsors of the event and Ratoath GAA for the use of their fantastic facilities over the past six weeks.

Pre match build up starts at 5pm and throw in is at 5.30pm. All are welcome.
