Senior Ladies:  Generali PanEurope Meath Ladies SFC Semi Final: Seneschalstown 3-07 Na Fianna 1-10.

Seneschalstown advanced to the final of the Generali PanEurope Meath Ladies SFC after a hard fought victory over Na Fianna in Seneschalstown on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts got off to a blistering start when Mary Murray blasted the ball to the top corner of the net. They added two points soon after before Na Fianna got off the mark with a pointed free. The visitors also added another point but Murray scored a second goal when lobbing the goalie with a dipping shot. Na Fianna scored a third point but Seneschalstown responded with a point of their own. Seneschalstown's first half points came from Grainne Nulty, Stephanie Byrne, Louise Coyle and Edel McGrane. The home side led at the break by 2-04 to 0-03.

Na Fianna got off to a bright start in the second half with the first two points to reduced the gap but Seneschalstown responded with a third goal. It came from Coyle via the penalty spot after she had been fouled. Na Fianna made life tough for the hosts making them work hard for scores while adding scores of their own. Stacey Grimes pointed a free before Na Fianna grabbed a goal to leave two between them. However Nulty pointed a free to make it a three point game. From the kickout the ref blew for full time and Seneschalstown got over the line.

Following this semi-final victory the ladies now advance to the final on Saturday evening in Ashourne when they will face St. Ultans.  Throw in for the match is fixed for 18:15.

When these two sides faced off in last years final Seneschalstown led by one point at half time, 0-06 to 0-05 but fell behind during the second half as St. Ultans were buoyed by scoring two goals.  Seneschalstown though were able to introduce the returning Grainne Nulty during that second half and she helped inspire her team to a late surge which saw them equalise courtesy of a Stacey Grimes point and then secure the victory when Louise Coyle split the posts with her second point of the match.

The final on Saturday is sure to be another tightly contested match with Seneschalstown looking to turn the tables after being defeated by St. Ultans in the round robin stage of the championship in July.

Senior:  In the Hoganstand.com Meath Senior Football Championship our Senior panel had an easier than expected victory over Gaeil Colmcille on Friday evening in Pairc Tailteann when winning by 4-15 to 2-06.  Following this result and Navan O'Mahonys victory over Walterstown the team secured their position in the preliminary quarter final.

In the preliminary quarter final we will play Summerhill at 19:00 on Sunday in Ashbourne.  Summerhill are reigning champions and will provide a stern test but Damien Sheridan's men have been in good form recently and will be confident of progressing to the quarter final.

Junior B:  The Junior B team will play Slane in the quarter final of the Seamus Connolly Catering Junior B Football Championship in Skryne on Saturday at 19:00.

After topping Group B David Hosie's charges will be confident of getting to the semi-final but will face a very difficult match against Slanes first team which has a number of very promising young players.

Minor:  In the LMFM sponsored minor championship we have been drawn to play Gaeil Colmcille in the first round.

U-17:  The U-17 team defeated Ratoath last Thursday evening in the semi-final of the Division 4 league by one point last Thursday.  In a game played in Fr. Tully Park they were two points behind with sixty two minutes on the clock but Robert Wogan popped up with a screamer of a goal to clinch the victory.

Next up for the team is the final against near neighbours Bru na Boinne in Páirc Tailteann tomorrow, Wednesday, at 20:15.  These two sides drew in Round 7 of the league, Seneschalstown 3-12 Ratoath 4-09 and another close encounter is anticipated.

The team and management would appreciate a large support in Páirc Tailteann tomorrow as they strive for success.

U-12:  Our U-12 team had a challenge match on Monday evening in Donore against St. Marys.  After a tightly contested match they emerged with a win.

Girls U-13:  Seneschalstown 5-10 Gael Colmcille 1-2

Seneschalstown Girls u13's completed a great weekend for the club with a fine victory over Gael Colmcille in the opening round of the u13 league in Fr. Tully Park on Sunday evening.

The home team got off to the best possible start with Kellie Smith scoring 1-1 in the first few minutes. The Kells girls then got their first point but soon after, a point attempt by Caradh Monaghan ended up in the Kells net to extend the home teams advantage. The scoring dried up for some time for the home team and the Kells girls reduced the deficit with a goal. However just before half time Smith scored her second goal and points from Sinead McLarney and Leanne Clarke to extend the home team's advantage to 3-5 to 1-1 at the break.

The second half started with a well worked point from Aoife Mulvany and soon after the lead was extended with another Caradh Monaghan goal. A further goal from Clarke and points from Monaghan, Sorcha Gough and Lauren Donnelly helped the home team to a well-deserved victory. Festival Of Football:  What a day we had in Fr. Tully Park on Saturday. Our Festival of Football was a runaway success with a large crowd attending during the day.

Events threw in with nutritionist Daniel Davey who gave a superb presentation on sports nutrition.

Next up was a coaching session with Mickey Burke. The Meath star put a large group of players through their paces, after which he complimented them on their high skill levels.

Strength and Conditioning guru Paul Clarke was next up with his presentation which was universally well received as he left those present in the large attendance with plenty of thoughts to mull over.

Legendary four time All Ireland winning coach Sean Boylan was our guest speaker and true to form Sean was a treat to listen to as he enthralled everybody who hung on his every word.

The players from our Nursery Section took pride of place on the pitch during their Skills Circuit during which they got an opportunity to flaunt all the skills which they have been honing all summer long.

Following this the players from U-12 to Senior took to the field to take part in the unique blitz at the end of which the winning team was presented with the Tommy McDonnell Memorial Shield by Veronica McDonnell.

Our thanks to all who provided goods for lunch in the clubhouse, ensuring all were well fed with nourishing food. Also thanks to the gentlemen who diligently served up the food off the barbecue during the afternoon making sure everybody went home well fed.

Saturday would not have been possible without the hard work of Joe Sheridan in putting it all together and for this we are very grateful. Joe (Acorn Insurance) and Global Electrical very generously sponsored today's events and we are very appreciative of this.

Club Competition:  There are only a couple of days left to get a photograph in for our Free 2015 Family Membership Competition.

All summer long we have been looking to spread the Seneschalstown gospel across the world.

We are looking for photos of our juvenile members on their holidays wearing their Seneschalstown gear. The photo could have been taken in Bundoran, Barcelona or Boston ......

Another option would have been to take a photo at a famous landmark such as Buckingham Palace!

So far we've had entries in from the San Siro in Milan, a Water Park in France and Achill Island to name but a few.

The draw for the Free Family Membership for 2015 is planned to be held during the Nursery Coaching Session on Saturday September 6th with the deadline for entries being 09:00 on Saturday morning.

Entries can be sent in via a private message to our Facebook Page or via email to our club PRO ([email protected]).
