Dunshaughlin's Shane Gallogly

B League DIV 4. Dunshaughlin 3 - 15 Simonstown 0 - 12.

Dunshaughlin's third team the hardy bucks finished off their league campaign in emphatic fashion with a comprehensive 9 point victory over Simonstown last Monday evening. With Keith 'horse' Rooney and John 'mushy' Coleman Running late Davy Mccormack came into the team at centre forward while player manager Ulick McDonnell found himself lining out in the same position as his childhood idol PJ Gillic at no 12 in very unfamiliar territory. McDonnell was not fazed in any way of the bright lights -big city and managed to score a goal that also seen James Rattigan and the evergreen Ron Yore find the net in an impressive three goal haul. Ciaran Hoary returned to action after a hamstring injury and Gaz 'the hitman' Flanagan showed his versatility by playing in the backs. Seamus Doyle put in a fine evenings work and looks a great prospect for the future and is serving his apprenticeship well under the vastly experienced JJ McDonnell and dual star Petey Rattigan. Brendan Duggan looks to have been a real found and chipped in with a nice score as did Kevin Bannon who with Jaames Rattigan has formed a deadly partnership.in the end the hardy bucks just had too much for Simonstown and finished the year on a high.

B League Div 1; Kells 1 -07 Dunshaughlin 4 - 18

Grangegodden in Kells was the venue as Dunshaughlins second team were in action in their final Div 1 B league game of the year on Tuesday evening. Despite being short numbers and starting the game with 14 players until manager Graham Dowd came out of retirement briefly it was a very spirited first half performance in particular by the 6 backs who defended heroically to keep Gaeil Colmcille at bay. A James Rattigan penalty and some sharp shooting by Dave McCormack and Martin Reilly were keeping the black and ambers nose in font as the visiting team were leading by 5 at half time. A back injury to JJ McDonnell seen Shane Gallogly come on with Gallogly being very productive on the night slotting over 3 beautiful scores with Martin Reilly, Niall Byrne and Brendan Duggan finding the back of the Gaeil Colmcille net. Two beautiful long rang points from big Jack Crimmons were the scores of the game with James Rattigan picking up where he left off with an impressive 1-03. This was a great performance with their backs against the wall for Dunshaughlin with Ken McTigue and Niall Murphy excelling at the back, Jack Crmmons lorded the middle of the field while all 6 forwards managed to get on the score sheet displaying some very accurate shooting.
