Boardsmill and Moylough produced an excellent exhibition of football in windswept Boardsmill on Friday night.

The Visitors opened the scoring but Boardsmill young team responded well with 4 unanswered points through Paula Dorian(3,1f) and Sinead McLoughlin. However Moylough soon settled and retook the lead through some impressive long range point taking and a well taken goal. The wind was a significant advantage at this stage.

Alannah Hannon and Dani O Sullivan replied for the hosts to leave the score 0.6 to 1.05 after 20 minutes. Moylough then took command and recorded another 1.4 to Baordsmills 3 pointed free's by Paula Dorian. The scores could have been a lot closer at the half way point but for Boardsmill wastingg 3 clear cut goal chances in the opening period. The half time score was Boardsmill 0.9 Moylough 2.08.

Caoimhe Bord opened the second half scoring for the hosts but Moylough were not to outdone and pointed twice to increase their lead to 6 points after 10 minutes. The hosts had brought on Suzy Kennedy and Kealey Hannon at the break and began to exert more control in their half back line where the impressive Sarah Dowling was dominant.

Hannah Tuite came on for Toni Hannon and with Lauren Kelly switching to full forward Boardsmill began to claw back the deficit. 4 points from Amy Troy , Dani o Sullivan and 2 from Kelly narrowed the gap before O Sullivan found the net to put the hosts ahead by the minimum. 10 minutes remained and the hosts were dominant scoring a further 2.1 through Troy (a point) and goals from O Sullivan and a speculative long range shot from Kelly which hopped over the Moylough keepers head to the back of the net.

The final score was Boardsmill 3.15 to Moylough 2.11 which should be enough to earn both teams a semifinal spot.

Boardsmill were best served by Sarah Dowling and Amy Troy. They were well supported by Paula Dorian and keeper Rhiannon Hoey who had a major influence on the game through here well placed kick outs.
