Club Hurling Team of the Week.

August 13, 2014

The hoganstand.com/Meath hurling team of the week.
Round 4 is done and dusted. Trim and Kiltale remain unbeaten. Kildalkey and Dunboyne push up to second place in the group, while Drumree and Ratoath make it to the semi finals of the intermediate. A hectic four days of hurling championship action. We pick our best XV.

1 Mick Healy Longwood: The stand in keeper was one of the 'Woods' best performers over the hour. Could do nothing about Douglas' two late strikes.

2 Tommy Raleigh Killyon: The totally committed Raleigh gave a exhibition of defending and hit two wonderful points against Kiltale.

3 Shane Brennan Kilmessan: Played a central role against Boardsmill in a defence that didn't leak a goal

4 Colm McGrath Trim: As per norm this year tidy and effective as Trim continued on their winning ways.

5 Anthony Forde Kiltale: Complimented a strong showing with two points from play as the 2012 winners maintained their 100% record.

6 Colm Doyle Trim: If one was to pick a club hurler of the year after round 4 the Trim number 6 would be one of the top contenders. Very classy against Longwood.

7 Conor Dempsey Dunderry: Scored a point and gave a man of the match display in their win over Kilskyre.

8 Darren Reilly Kilmessan: His ten points were crucial as the reigning champions overcame Na Fianna at Trim.

9 Barry Slevin Na Fianna: Orchestrated matters from midfield as well as contributing 10 points including that majestic sideline cut.

10 Shane Troy Drumree: Outstanding in the opening half, scoring eight points as Drumree remain unbeaten in the IHC.

11 Padraig O'Hanrahan Ratoath: One of the best marksmen around. His nine points against Dunboyne were vital as Ratoath advanced to the semi final of the intermediate.

12 Mike Cole Rathmolyon: Continues to have a great appetite for the game. Scored 2-4 which along with his overall display was crucial to his side's first win.

13 Alan Douglas Trim: His late brace of goals earned Trim a dramatic win over Longwood and capped an impressive display. 2-4 from play for the recently returned 'Town' star.

14 Willie McGrath Moylagh: Would get his place on any of the top teams in the county. Contributed 11 points in Moylagh's 1-13 to 1-12 win over Donaghmore Ashbourne.

15 Paddy Conneely Kildalkey: Showed signs of returning to his best form. Boardsmill had no answer to his forward play. Scored 1-5 and was involved in numerous other scores.
