AFL2: Nobber win derby to stay in promotion hunt

Nobber turned in a powerful performance to defeat Castletown in this crucial League match and in doing so gave themselves an outside chance of promotion.

Gavin Farrelly turned in a man of the match performance and it was through him that Nobber gained superiority over their neighbours.

Playing with the wind in the opening period Nobber found themselves 3 points clear after 9 minutes thanks to scores from Brian Kelly, Gerard Campbell and Carl Casserly Castletowns first score came in the 12th minute with there other 2 scores coming in the 26th and 27th minutes.

In the meantime Nobbers other first half scores came from Gerard Campbell Andrew o Brien Brian Kelly and Brian Farrell.

On the restart Castletown looked lively and fired over the opening score of the half with Nobber replying through Brian Farrell Castletown pushed on again and entering the last 10 minutes had further reduced the deficit to 2 points but with Farrelly producing some wonderful catches at midfield Nobber we're not going to outdone on this occasion and with further scores from Brian Farrell 2 Dale Larkin Stephen O Brien and Andrew O Brien emerged worthy winners.
