Kieran Toner will put off surgery in a bid to feature in Armagh's upcoming football qualifier clash against Meath on August 2.

The Irish News reports that the Orchard midfielder - who damaged his shoulder during the drawn Ulster semi-final against Monaghan - will put a minor operation on hold so he can line out against the Royals.

The Granemore clubman's place subsequently went to Stephen Harold who impressed in last weekend's win over Roscommon.

Manager Paul Grimley may also be able to call on the services of Ethan Rafferty who missed the qualifier wins over Tyrone and the Rossies with a toe injury.

The outlook is not so good for Caolan Rafferty, however, who sustained a broken hand in training.
