St Brigids 2-9 Ballinabrackey 2-9

St Brigids had the better start of this A league clash with a point from wing forward Stephen Skelly.

Killian Kiernan then grabbed his first goal for the Brigids after pouncing on a rebounded shot on goal. Ryan Tighe then added a point from the next kickout after Oisin Kiernan caught the ball and laid it off to Tighe. Ballinabracky got off the mark with a point but Killian responded with another cracking goal after firing Michael Flood's blocked shot past the keeper. Ryan Tighe scored another point after Peter Moore made a break from the backline and found Tighe with a pass.

This gave St Brigids a four point lead at half time. Ballinabracky got the opening two points of the second half but Conor Farrelley replied with a point for St Brigids. Substitute Brendan Gibson scored another point for the Brigids and Killian Kiernan added another soon after when Ryan Tighe picked him out with a pass in the full forward line. Ballinabracky replied with two points and were within three points of St Brigids at this stage but Fergal Hennessy converted two frees for the home team and this widened the gap between the teams.

Ballinabracky were awarded a penalty and managed to get it passed the Brigids goalkeeper Daragh Geraghty to get ther first goal of the game. Hennessy was on hand again to convert a free and this again opened the gap between the teams to three points.

There was a final goal in the game and unfortunately it was scored by the visitors and the game ended in a draw. The score was 2-9 each. Fechin Heery, Ryan Tighe and Killian Kiernan impressed for St Brigids.
