Dubs have set the bar, says Royal County coach

Sean Kelly.
Meath coach Sean Kelly concedes that Dublin are setting the standards for everyone else to follow these days.

The arch rivals will go head-to-head in the 2014 Leinster SFC final at Croke Park on Sunday and Kelly admits that Dublin's system will be hard to unlock:

"I would say that Dublin always have 21 players that they are confident will get them through the match, so therefore I would say that there are some individuals that they decide are better to bring into the game because they make an impact," Kelly observes in The Irish Independent.

"Then there are some individuals that make a greater impact if they start. I also think other players start according to the teams they are playing. They have developed a system.

"It would be more difficult knowing their selection to the same degree you might know other counties' selection. That is the joy of it, the fun of it. I think it is a great opportunity for us.

"Dublin have evolved over the last few years and they have set the bar and everyone else is chasing up that way.

"If you go back to the All-Ireland last year, they slightly changed the way they were playing in my view. They were slightly more defensive. They play the way they want to play, but they can tweak that depending on the team they are playing against."
