Dunderry started this Round 3 match on the back of a convincing win over Kilmessan last time out and from the first whistle went at their opponents.

Kevin Dowd had the ball in the net after 4 minutes followed up by Davy Gilkeson slotting over a '65' and 2 quick free's in the first 8 minutes. Evan Stephens was immense in the centre of defence along side his brother David and Damien Bruton and nothing got passed them. Ashbourne registered a point in the 11th minute but Gilkeson responded with another '65' and 3 more free's. Luke Martyn and Conor Farrell controlled the midfield and in the 26th minute Martyn slotted over a fine point. Young Alex Walsh tormented Asbourne's back line with his pace and nimble footwork, Bruton in the 32nd minute latched onto a loose ball and from 30 yards out scored a fine point too leave the half time score 1-9 to 0-4 in favour of Dunderry.

The 2nd half was a hard fought affair and Dowd scored the fist score with a fine point in the 37th minute. Killian Minogue was producing a fine display of hurling in the half back line, Martyn scored 2 more fine points in the 45th & 52nd minute. Gilkeson was outstanding with the free taking responsibility knocking over another 2 and in the final minute John Moran got his reward for his hard work with a well taken goal.
