Mixed blitz for Royal Under 14's

Meath Under 14's 'Gold'
A Meath U14 selection of 48 players  travelled to Trinity Gaels GFC  for an Intercounty U14 Leinster Blitz on Saturday last .

This was the first time that many of this panel had played together in a inter-county context and the results were promising . Two squads were arranged based on equal strengths and they were named Meath Green and Meath Gold to reflect this fact . The first 2 games of the day for the squads were against Westmeath 1 and Westmeath 2 , who had earlier gave a good account of themselves against Dublin opposition. In their opening games success was had by both Meath Green and Gold squads, with both teams putting in very good displays of team work and score taking . Unfortunately, and possibly due to a fast turn around for the games the young Royals were defeated by the auld enemy, Dublin.

Overall a successful expedition into Leinster  was had and it will now allow the Management team of Eamon Barry, Greg Carry, and their regional selectors, Joe Treanor,Tom Doyle, Ciaron Byrne and David Courtney to plan for blitzes in the coming months.

It also gave the opportunity for 48 of our brightest young stars to don the sacred  County jersey for the first time  .
