North Meath Gaels 2-11

North Meath, after winning the first four games, slumped to a second defeat in a row as Ballivor made the long and where deserving in carrying home the two points. While North Meath are finished the League part of the campaign and where through to the Semi Finals after round 4 this victory gives Ballivor a great chance of also getting through as they have 2 rounds yet to play.

The 1st half was a close affair with North Meath leading as the break loomed as Robert McEntaggert and John Duff had scored goals but two late Ballivor goals one from a penalty gave Ballivor a 4-3 to 2-7 half time lead.

1-1 in the 1st few minutes of the second half put the visitors in a strong position but North Meath dominated for the next 20 minutes or so but only managed 4 points the pick of which was Dominic Yorke 45.

Ballivor pointed on 55 minutes to break the siege and give them a 3 point lead 5-5 to 2-11 and this gave them the confidence to push on and this they did with 1-2 in the last few minutes of the half.

Graham Boylan, Martin Shields, Dominic Yorke and Robert McEntaggert tried hardest for the losers.
