Colleges: Five star show from Niamh O'Keefe and Eureka

Eureka Secondary School Kells claimed the Tesco Homegrown Post Primary Schools All Ireland Junior B title today with a comfortable win over Ballinamore Community School from Leitrim.

Eureka full forward Niamh O'Keefe was the toast of her school scoring an amazing 5 goals and a point of the winners total.

Ballinmore were first on the scoreboard when Aileen Maguire pointed. The winners dominated the remainder holding the opposition to just another point for the opening thirty minutes. Points from Amy Gaynor and Laura Keogan was followed up with O'Keefe's first goal. Further points from Edith Lynch (2) Clara Lynch and O'Keefe put the Meath school 1-6 to 0-1 up after 15 minutes. O'Keefe added her second and third goals in the last seven minutes to give Eureka a commanding 3-7 to 0-2 half time lead.

Ballinamore fared better in the second half. As in the first Aileen Maguire got the opening score but O'Keefe had this encounter wrapped up after five minutes with her fourth goal. Maguire added a brace for the Leitrim girls before Eureka went on another scoring burst. Points from Clara Lynch (2), Laura Keoghan along with O'Keefe's 5th put the issue beyond doubt. Substitute Rose Finnegan got in on the goal scoring act with minutes remaining.

After the game Niamh O'Keefe was presented with the player of the match award while the All Ireland Junior B Cup was presented to Eureka joint captains Amy Gaynor and Catherine Dolan.
