Raharney native Nick Weir was ratified as Meath senior hurling manager at last night’s county board meeting in Dunganny.

Weir who managed Longwood when they reached the county final in 2013 takes over from Nick Fitzgerald who was in charge for two years and guided the county to Christy Ring Cup success.

Weir has been given a two year term with a review after year one. His selectors have yet to be finalised.

Three outgoing selectors, Donal Curtis, Gerry Cooney and Finian Murtagh were all ratified to continue with senior football manager Andy McEntee for another year.
