Kildalkey 2-20 Dunboyne 1-8

The SHC rocked on at the weekend with another round of games and Kildalkey faced Dunboyne in Trim.

Dunboyne came into this game on the back of a heavy defeat to Kiltale and needed to up their game to restore some pride and that they did as they made life hard for Kildalkey from the get go with intense tackling and a high energy performance that took a long while for the men in blue to break down.

Points from Paddy Coneely (4 frees) Sean Heavey Brin Kelly, Nicky Potterton and  1-1 from Conor Kearney had Kildalkey ahead at the break 1-8 to 0-5. The goal coming at the right time as both sides traded points in an even first half but the village men were just a bit sharper up front despite tight defending from Dunboyne.

Dunboyne were beginning to think they could win the game but their  goal woke up Kildalkey and with the introduction of their subs they outscored Dunboyne for the rest of the game by 1-9 to 0-1.

Brin Kelly hit his second long range point after Coneely hit another couple of frees then Kearney struck for his second goal after increasing pressure from the men in blue.

Heavey with 2 more, Evan Fitzgerald, Kearney and Heavey again and James Mcnally closed the scoring for Kildalkey as they ran out 2-20 to 1-8 winners on the night as they got the job done.
