Na Fianna 1-17  Trim 4-08

Na Fianna and Trim served up a thriller in Trim on Friday night as a late penalty and a point rescued a draw for the home side.

Na Fianna played good football throughout but Trim’s ability to counter with goals kept the pressure on the visitors.

Trim led by 2-04 to 0-8 at half time with Damien Downey, Dean Barrett, Andy Glynn and Paul Kennedy all hitting Na Fianna points.

Na Fianna were level within two minutes of the restart with Andy Glynn and Brian Queeney pointing. Trim hit another point to go ahead again but a Jarlath Ennis goal put the visitors ahead. Downey, Barrett, Ben Caldwell and Evan Henrick put over points as Na Fianna found themselves four up in the final minutes.

However Trim netted a late penalty and a point to claim a draw, meaning a win for Na Fianna in their final game puts them into the final.
