Outgoing chairman Peter O’Halloran was given a resounding vote of confidence by delegates at Monday night's county convention in O’Mahonys as he was returned to serve a second term.
The Drumconrath club man defeated the only other candidate Eamon Barry (Walterstown) by 121 votes to 48.
In the only other contest of the night Brendan Cummins (outgoing) 91 votes (Dunsany) and Brian Carberry 43 votes (St Vincent’s) were returned as Leinster Council representatives for the coming year. They defeated the only other candidate Cathal Joyce (Clann na nGael) who received 31 votes.
Carberry who previous served as Leinster delegate replaces Francis Lynch (Kiltale) who had to step down due to the five year rule.
