Drumbaragh's James Connolly gains possession against Meath Hill

Drumbaragh recorded a narrow victory over Meath Hill in this Corn na Boinne fixture played in Drumbaragh.

This is the third time these teams met in 2018. The last time these two met was in the championship when Meath Hill staged a late comeback to snatch victory.

Man of the match Jimmy Connolly opened the scoring in the first minute, but Meath Hill sent over 2 points before Connolly doubled his tally. Connolly added another 2 while Colm Carry got on the scoresheet as Drumbaragh went in at the break 0-5 to 0-3 in front.

Conor Lyncha nd William Carry extended the lead wearily in the second half before Meath Hill hit back with 3 points to leave a point between the sides after 10 minutes. Lynch, who was voted the clubs Young Player of the Year doubled his tally. The teams were still level when Connolly cut the Meath Hill defence wide open and buried the ball into the net. William Carry added a point to open up a four point lead but Meath Hill hit back with 3 unanswered points to narrow the gap. Connolly sent over a great free and on 30th minute. Meath Hill narrowed the lead to the minimum but Drumbaragh held on to go into the hat for the next round.
