The 3 in a row is still on for Simonstown
After a hectic weekend of quarter final action we have managed to agree on our selection for team of the week.
1 Cian Flynn (Dunboyne): Produced a couple of match winning saves in that thrilling extra time win over Gaeil Colmcille at Dunshaughlin.
2 Sean Ryan (Dunboyne): Popped up a with goal in extra time to finally kill off the Gaeil Colmcille challenge at Dunshaughlin.
3 Caolan Young (Summerhill): The rock that many Cilles attacks fell on especially in the second half when Des Lane's charges threatened a miraculous recovery under lights at Skryne.
4 Dean McNamee (Ballinabrackey): In a game where scores were crucial the corner back kicked a crucial point as the Bracks saw off Dunderry in that low scoring encounter at Simonstown.
5 Jason Scully (Oldcastle): The Meath Under 20 star gave Syddan numerous problem from his new role in defence. Set up scores and got in for a goal himself in the quarter final win over Syddan at Pairc Tailteann.
6 Michéal Geraghty (Ballinlough): The best player on view as the 'Lough advanced to the last four with a goal to spare over St. Michaels in Carnaross.
7 Oisin Reilly (Gaeil Colmcille): A different player since his move from attack to the middle sector. Phenomenal work rate over the two games in six days against Wolfe Tones and Dunboyne.
8 Sean Tobin (Simonstown): His return from America was a timely boost for the holders. His move to the middle of the park could fill the void left by Nash and O'Rourke as Simonstown go chasing a three in a row.
9 Michéal Byrne (Summerhill): Totally dominated the midfield sector with some outstanding high field in that Friday night win over St. Colmcilles at Skryne.
10 Ryan Moore (Longwood): The dual star was in outstanding form once again kicking an impressive 1-9 as Longwood stunned Trim in extra time at Summerhill.
11 David Larkin (Summerhill): Many leaving Skryne were questioning why the Hills number 11 is not on the county seniors. A Man of the Match display scoring 1-5 as John Lyons charges advanced to the semi final.
12 Andrew Kearney (Simonstown): Waited for his chance to break on to the senior team and the talented forward has taken it to great effect. The best forward on the pitch, scored four points, as Simonstown put Skryne to the sword at Navan.
13 Brian Hanlon (Gaeil Colmcille): A goal and four in last Monday's preliminary quarter final win over Wolfe Tones and hit 13 points six days later against Dunboyne in that extra time thriller.
14 Andrew Tormey (Donaghmore Ashbourne): Ran the show from the edge of the square and scored 1-3 as the Moores stunned favourites Ratoath in Navan.
15 James Conlan (St. Colmcilles): Almost single-handedly kept the Cilles in the game against Summerhill. Kicked six points, five in the second half and his movement on and off the ball was a joy to watch.
