Meath 2-19  Wicklow 2-7

Meath were first on the scoreboard with 3 points in the Gerry Reilly  Leinster U16 FT Quarter Final played in Oldcastle on Sunday afternoon in ideal conditions.

Wicklow responded with 3 unanswered points by the 12th  minute including 2 points from frees. Meath went ahead again before a great Wicklow goal had the sides level once more.

Meath went on to lead at the break by 0-9 to 1-4. The Royals upped a gear in the second half and added 8 points to their tally to Wicklow's single score. When Niall Finnerty finished a great  move to the Wicklow net in the 50th minute, it was always going to be an uphill battle for thr Garden County. In saying that, Wicklow never gave up and every ball was contested with vigour.

Pearse Sheridan got Meath's second goal after a pass from Barry Thompson. Alan Miley's goal for Wicklow came just before the final whistle.

Meath's Niall Finnerty was presented with the 'man of the match' award by Martin Blake (Briody Bedding Limited - Sponsor)

Meath now play Louth in the Semi-Final next weekend.
