U14 SL: St Ultans/Cortown Gaels go down fighting

July 13, 2018

St Ultans/ Cortown Gaels Under 14 panel

St Ultans/Cortown Gaels 1-4 Longwood 2-6

St Ultans/Cortown Gaels' under 14 team were unlucky to come out the wrong side of the result on Thursday evening in Sean Newman Park, Bohermeen.

Despite being without a few key players, who were on holidays, the entire squad put in a great shift and their hard work made it a very enjoyable, competitive match.

There were outstanding performances from chief scorer Lorcan Hughes, Simon Yore who made some excellent saves in goals in the second half, Alex Casserly who also made some crucial goal line clearances, Theo Staunton who marshalled the defence excellently as well as marking the Longwood dangerman, debutant Con McDermott who was very solid in defence, Elliot Reilly who on one of his first performances in defence, showed composure and great ball carrying skill breaking forward, Luke Cahill up front who combined his skill with bravery and Eoin Mulroe for winning possession.

St Ultans/Cortown Gaels: Dara McHugh, Alex Casserly, Theo Staunton, Darragh Callaghan, Con McDermott, Charlie Smith, Elliott Reilly, Lorcan Hughes (1-4 (2f)), Jack Boylan, Killian McHugh, Keenan McKenna, Luke Griffin, Luke Cahill, Tadgh Shanley, Barry Fitsimons, Simon Yore, Eoin Mulroe, Kaylon Rogers.

Our next U14 fixture is next Thursday 19th July @ 19.00 vs Bective/Cannistown in Bective. Please come out and support the lads !
