Ballinlough pays tribute to the late Sean Lydon

June 15, 2018

A day to remember. The late Sean Lydon holds the banner as Ballinlough celebrate their 2014 Meath IFC final win over Ballinabrackey at Pairc Tailteann.

It is with deep regret that Ballinlough GFC learned of the passing of our much loved Treasurer, Sean Lydon.

Sean has been a Balllinlough stalwart for many years and was always willing to help out in any aspect of club activity.

A useful left half or left full back during the seventies/eighties, many people will remember him standing in his high vis jacket directing traffic at games, carrying out the role of umpire or collecting at the gate.

Usually the first to arrive and the last to go, Sean would enjoy the company and the chat. He always had a story to share.

His passing has left a terrible loss in our area and community at large.

To his wife Mary, sons John and James, wider family and friends we extend our sympathy.
