Ratoath's Sean Hanrahan

Ratoath 1-18 Na Fianna 0-12

Ratoath's senior hurlers enjoyed a 9 point win over Na Fianna in this round 6 league fixture played in warm sunny conditions in Sean Eiffe Park.

The game began with the visitors on the front foot and were 3 points to 1 in the lead after 5 minutes. Ratoath soon got into their stride and and with a couple of well taken scores from Conleth McClarnon, including a goal in the 13th minute they went into a 1-4 to 0-3 point lead. After that the home side dominated for the remainder of the half with Padraig O'Hanrahan featuring picking off a number of scores from play as well as placed balls. As a result Ratoath held a comfortable lead at half time.

The second half began with both teams exchanging points. The Enfield/Baconstown men were more competitive in this half but were frequently let down by errant shooting in trying to reduce Ratoath's advantage. That said Ratoath's backs were performing well as David O'Reilly's charges kept the scoreboard  ticking over with Jack & Daithi McGowan & Sean Keogh  among the scorers. Further scores from Sean O'Hanrahan, & Cian Rogers put the result beyond doubt with 5 minutes to go and despite two late Na Fianna points Ratoath were full value for their 1-18 to 0-12 victory. This result ensures Ratoath remain at the top of the Division 1 table with 9 points from 5 games
