Trim 5-13 Castletown 2-7

Trim defeated Castletown in the B football league Division 2 match played in Castletown on Monday evening. 

The Trim lads started well and had four point on the scoreboard before the home side registered their first point in the twelfth minute. The Trim points came from veterans Alan Shine and Owen McGrath while youngster Mikie Cullen fired over a brace. Castletown hit a purple patch that yielded 1-1 to level matters at the half way point. The Reds  then went on a scoring blitz for the remainder of the half scoring two goals through Mikie Cullen and Nigel Dignan along with points from Alan Shine, Owen McGrath,Paul Munnelly and David Murtagh

Half Time Score: Trim 2-8 Castletown 1-3 

Trim added three goals in the second half from Owen O'Connor and two from the great Owen McGrath. Points from Munnelly, Cullen, McGrath, Shine, and O'Connor before the 12th minute to put the game to bed for the boys in Red. Castletown to their credit scored a goal and five point without reply in the last ten minutes.
