FL Div 3: Lynch strikes late to seal third win for Emmets

Drumbaragh 3-7 Meath Hill 1-12

Drumbaragh recorded a narrow win over Meath Hill in this very entertaining Division 3 game played in Drumbaragh.

Conor Lynch opened the scoring for the home side with a point. William Carry found the Meath Hill net after a fantastic run. Points from DJ Carry, Lynch,and Stephen Meegan gave Drumbaragh a five point cushion at the break.

Meath Hill came out all guns blazing and scored 1-2 without reply inside the first 10 minutes. DJ Carry steadied the Drums with two fine loints and on the 17th minute the impressive Conor Lynch got his teams second goal to open up a flur point lead. But Meath Hill refused to give in and were 2 up as the game entered injury time.

Drumbaragh were not to be denied their third win of the campaign as Man of the Match got in his second major before the full time whistle sounded.

Best for the winners were Lynch, Meegan, William carry and DJ Carry

Meath Hill Report

Drumbaragh 3-7 Meath Hill 1-12

A goal six minutes into injury time gave the home team Drumbaragh both points in Rd 8 of the Division 3 League on Sunday afternoon,

Meath Hill started poorly and had only three points to show for the first half, 1-5 to 0-3 to Drumbaragh at half time.

Ten minutes into the second half, Meath Hill had drawn level thanks in the main to an own goal by the Drumbaragh goalkeeper, following a 60 yard free from the Meath Hill keeper Dominic Yorke.  Drumbaragh responded with a goal and a point to lead by four with ten minutes remaining, 2-7 to 1-6. 

The 'Hill fought back again and scored six on the bounce to lead by two points deep into injury time, when somehow a goal went in with almost the last kick of the game.

Tomas Smith kicked five points from play for Meath Hill and Thomas Carolan and Conor Marry had good games also.
