Gaeil Colmcille had 14 points to spare in the battle of the "Cilles" in Grangegodden. Seamus Mattimoe proved to be the match winner on the day bagging a total of 2-05 in a convincing win for the North Meath outfit.

St. Colmcille's opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a lovely pointed score on the break away. Kells hit 5 unanswered points in a seven minute purple patch with scores from Martin Barrett, Oisin Reilly (2), Seamus Mattimoe and Brian Hanlon. St. Colmcille's responded with two points of their own before Kells got the opening goal of the game. Evan Sheridan won a opposition kickout and drove straight down the middle and his fisted pass left Hanlon one on one with the Colmcille's keeper and he made no mistake. Leaving Gaeil Colmcille 1-06 to 0-03 to the good at half time.

It was all Kells In the second half and on 40 minutes Mattimoe got his first goal of the game, three points in row from Mattimoe and his second goal of the game on 50 minutes put the game beyond doubt. Fionn Reilly came off the bench to make his first appearance of the year and was rewarded with a score of his own on 58 minutes. The win leaves Kells side in second place just 2 points behind table toppers Skryne.
