Gaeil Colmcille Report

Gaeil Colmcille 0-07 St. Peter's, Dunboyne 2-15

Gaeil Colmcille saw their unbeaten start to the league crash with a heavy defeat to Dunboyne.

Dunboyne came out of the blocks with blistering pace and scored 1-01 in the opening two minutes of the game. Kells responded with two points from Seamus Mattimoe. It was a tight affair until coming up to half time and points from Brian Hanlon and Martin Barrett (2) saw Kells go into injury time trailing by just three points but Dunboyne gathered two possessions and tagged on an extra two points to leave them 1-07 to 0-05 points ahead at the break.

It's was to be all Dunboyne in the second half with the Kells men only registering two points from Stephen Reddy and Hanlon. If the reault was ever in doubt that ended on 45 minutes when Dunboyne added a second goal, a long ball into the full forward and he calmly passed it by a helpless Justin Carry-Lynch.

Next up for Gaeil Colmcille will be Navan O'Mahonys in a fixture date still to be decided.

Gaeil Colmcille: J Carry-Lynch, C Ferguson, B Tormay, J Muldoon, L Ferguson, J Quigley, J Reilly, C Doogan, S Curran, F Ferguson, M Barrett (0-02), C Courtney, S Reddy (0-01), S Mattimoe (0-02), B Hanlon (0-02)
