This was an entertaining game played in crisp conditions at Kilberry with the result in doubt to the very end. Caolán Ward opened the scoring for Wolfe Tones with a pointed free before Ratoath added 3 without reply by the sixth minute. Tones dominated the next 20 minutes and thanks to a Mark Coleman point and 4 from from Caolán Ward  (3 frees)  they led by  1-7 to 0-3.The visitors however hit a purple patch and added 1-2 to narrow the gap to 2 before Caolan Ward converted a free on the stroke of half time to leave the half time score Wolfe Tones 1-8 Ratoath 1-5.

Ratoath opened the second half well and opened with two points in as many minutes. Tones reacted well and outscored the visitors 4 points to 1 and led by 1-12 to 1-8 after 50 minutes. Following the pattern in the first half Ratoath finished strongly and added 2 points to set up a tense finish. They would regret 3 further wides while Tones Mark Coleman, Alan Fox (free) and Gary Mc Fadden rounded off the scoring for the Tones and completed a league double for the Tones following their A league opening round win over the same opposition.

In a good team performance Oisín Mac Ghinneartaí, Conor Sheppard, Mark Coleman Charlie Mc Garry, Killian O Brien, Thomas Blaney and Caolán Ward caught the eye.
