'Former Westmeath dual star Sarah McManus is appointed Trim GAA GPO'
Trim GAA are delighted to officially announce that Leinster GAA has appointed Sarah McManus as Games Promotion Officer (GPO) to our club.
In her role to date, Sarah has been doing trojan work in the promotion of Gaelic Games in all of our five local Primary Schools. She has also been involved in driving and delivering various workshops and courses for our club coaches as part of our club 'coach the coaches' programme. This is a very welcome development for our progressive club who enjoyed an immensely successful 2017 at juvenile level.
This appointment is a further progressive step in the evolution of Trim GAA Club and we wish Sarah every success in her new role.
We would like to thank the Coaching and Games staff in Leinster Council and Meath County Board in assisting with Sarah's appointment and the positive support for this initiative by our Club Senior and Juvenile Executive Committee's. We look forward to reinforcing the fantastic work already achieved in our Juvenile ranks by our fantastic club coaches and mentors, through Sarah's new position. Sarah brings an infectious enthusiasm and energy to this role that will be instrumental to improving our coaching structures, expanding our Schools Programme and helping us to retain as many players as possible into the adult section of our club.
A graduate of Dundalk IT (BSc Health, Physical Fitness & Sports Nutrition), as well as playing camogie and football for her club, St Lomans in Mullingar, Sarah has represented Westmeath in both codes at inter county level and is well known in Westmeath sporting circles. Previous to coming on board with us she was employed by the Westmeath Sports Partnership where she gained vast experience in a coaching capacity.
Everyone at our club extends a huge Átha Troim welcome to Sarah and we wish her the very best in her new role.
