Harry Rooney will be back on board with the Meath senior footballers in 2018.
The talented young Skryne clubman has been named by manager Andy McEntee in his first panel for the new season, ahead of Meath's O'Byrne Cup opener against Carlow in Dr Cullen Park on Wednesday, January 3rd.
Rooney was outstanding for the Royal County in 2016, featuring in every game, but missed out on all of this year due to his travels to Australia, where he togged out for the Young Irelands club in the New South Wales league. He was a massive loss to his county in 2017.
"He is back in training with Meath and will return to training with us early in the new year," Skryne PRO Dermot Carty confirmed to hoganstand.com.
Rooney's return to the engine-room comes as a welcome fillip for Meath, who have suffered a few surprising defections from their senior squad during the close season.
