The Dubs will be anxious to put on a better show after the last day, but Mayo will be anxious to show off the new jerseys with the country tuning in... Mayo/Dublin league games tend to be high quality and open - last year's one in Croker was easily the game of the league. Here's hoping for another showpiece, with a reversal of last year's result.
going to be a great night looking forward to this already but imo i thought i was good game last year in fairness but we had no "STEVO" in the onion bag for us this time around we will dont think it will be so close this although as you said mayo will be on a high after there first victory but then the dubs will be hell bent on getting there campaign on the road too all the best though.
p.s.not looking forward to the drive over then back straight after it ;-(

A number of important fixture dates have finally been announced. The O'Mara Cup will begin on February 19th with the Gaels having been draw against Claremorris, The Neale and Shrule/Glencorrib. The other rounds are scheduled for February 26th, March 3rd and 11th. The first league game is scheduled for April 1st and the first round of the intermediate championship is scheduled for the weekend of May 25th.
Just seen this on the Mayo gaels Website. The intermediate championship looks to be starting very early this year. I presume it is on account of the winners of the mayo championship are down to play the galway winners on the weekend of the 14th Oct. This in effect means that they will have to have the final played by the weekend of the 30th Sept to allow for a reply etc.

I think the indo puts it best this morning. "Clinical Mayo ease past Laois". In spite of the recession it is great to be able to go to games and watch a class team improve with every game. Can't wait for the Dub's who, will be up for this following their loss to Kerry. We will really see how far Mayo have come next weekend. I just hope Kirby is unleashed at 14 for at least part of the game. Mort will do the spade work for him and in my book nobody in Ireland has better ability at getting inside the backs.

not at game just listened to it on Mid west radio, appeared Mayo should have been beaten by half time only for luck, most of team beaten by longford few years back in first 15, future not good, no full back, no midfield, poor forwards

Good away win for the Mayo men sounds like only two starting forwards scored & a sub? it's hard to believe Laois are in Div 1 while the like's of Tyrone,Derry,Kildare are in Div 2.
4 starting forwards scored. And Moran and McLoughlin put in good shifts too.
Mayo were solid at the back and effective up front. Struggled at midfield though. Good start overall.

Was at the game last night. Overall you would be happy with the performance and have 2 points in the bag. Mayo were a bit slow to get going and a lot of simple passing went astray. Were in total control in the second half when they went up a gear. Freeman hit some point from the outside of the boot, class point. Laois probably the weakest team in the division, so it will be hard going from here on. Bring on the Dubs!

So long as the attitude is right I think we should come through safe enough. There's no doubt about the scoring potential on the bench, but the defensive options are less proven..u'd have to be worried about our options there
