Mayo - Club championship fixtures

Replying To pdempsey:  "Knockmore, Breaffy, Ballina and Ballintubber to win.
Breaffy v Knockmore final (depends on semi draw)
Breaffy to win.

Castlebar may stumble over Knockmore but hard to see them winning it out."
I LOVE IT!

Replying To imonmyway:  "Yes I didn't expect them results - no one would have expected Claremorris to beat Breaffy and I certainly did not see the big Garrymore win coming. However I still think Castlebar will complete their three in a row this year..."
Claremorris result was a shock alright. I actually backed Garrymore although it didn't look good for them when 1-5 to 0-0 down. I just felt too much was made of Ballina beating an already qualified Castlebar.

Ballintubber v Holly/Carra was an entertaining game with some fine scores from both sides.

So its Castlebar V Garrymore and Claremorris V Ballintubber/Hollymount Carramore. The way the weekend games went it is very hard to predict these games. Still Castlebars to loose though. I think a Castlebar Claremorris final with Claremorris beating Ballintubber in the semi final

Tubber v Hollymount too close to call. Will go for Tubber but with little certainty.
Going for Garrymore v Tubber final with Tubber to win.
In reality, any of the remaining teams could win it out.

Breaffy blew up big time again

Down to four. Castlebar to beat Garrymore and a surprise in store in the other semi with a fresh Claremorris beating a tired Ballintubber team. Disappointed with Holly/Carra last night. Didn't have the fitness to stick with Ballintubber & some of their bigger players didn't perform.

The Final Four

Castlebar v Garrymore.

Didn't see Castlebar last weekend but not overly impressive from reports. I believe this is the weekend they will turn it on. Eleven or Twelve have played Senior Intercounty at some stage and going for three county titles in a row.

Was at Garrymore v Ballina. It looked like a massacre early on when Ballina raced into eight point lead. They stopped playing and got involved in the rough stuff which Garrymore lapped up. Some credit must go this bang average Garrymore team though.

I got the Garrymore game wrong last week but not two weeks in a row. Quality always wins out eventually.

Castlebar by 15+.

Ballintubber v Claremorris.

Claremorris are the coming team in Mayo. We have the top young players in the county and a top drawer management team. Might be a year too early but we will break the stranglehold of West Mayo.

Ballintubber are hugely experienced with a ruthless hard edge. Some of their tackling is way over the top and I would hope Jerome Henry will not pander to their big names. Finnerty a big loss for the them. Stretton our leader massive for us.

If Ballintubber are made play football and not let away with the Hard Man stuff, Claremorris will have the legs on them. Will this happen? Unlikely.

Your probably right but write off Garrymore at your peril - though I do expect a Castlebar win

Any predictions for the intermediate and senior games this weekend? I think Tubber could take Castlebar in a tight game and I expect Kiltimagh to beat Moy Davitts!

I would agree with Ballintubber and Kiltimagh wins but as we have seen in this championship so far anything is possible
