Mayo - The anticipated big guns will now test each other

Decks are clear now,Mayo to end that 21 year championship drought against a mediocre Kerry team. Tyrone will pressure Dublin, but theDubs will come through. It will be a Mayo/Dublin final again.

Better show by Mayo and Rochford today, He did something about the full back , but that wont be good enough for Donaghey and co, kept Boyle on for full hour and made better use of A O Shea nearer to goal for full game, mistake bringing on Dillon too old , give the young fellows more game time, other downside , Mayo will now be named as favourites by some cute pro Kerry media, and once Mayo think they are favourites for a game they always fail, tell them they have no chance and they will win.

Their hunger was the most pleasing thing about today,,, I always wondered coming away from more recent games where they have been blowing hot and cold was there more held in reserve or were they just waning as a team, they need another 30% from today to get over Kerry,

What an interesting beast this Mayo team is: dragging itself through the championship only to roar into life at the tail end of it for the second year in a row. Clearly shows where the focus is!

50/50 game against Kerry but I think ye have enough to win it, and hopefully ye do.

Best of luck from this Tribesman.

Well done to Mayo. You really must be admired. Get knocked down and you keep getting back up again. Shows great character and I hope you can repeat the spirit and get to the Final again. Hats off to you.

Don't think favouritism will matter a bit Culmore, this team long since have left that behind as a factor. Only things that matter are that they're in the last four, in very good physical condition and will have no fear of any of the other sides left. All that and the fact that they badly want that medal. They're exactly where they wanted to be facing opponents they expected to be facing. All that will concern them is getting that performance out against the Kingdom. We already now how stubborn this team have become.

Cheers Festy, btw...

culmore - your talk of favoritism, kerry media etc. is irrelevant from the Mayo players point of view. Experienced players don't give a hoot what the media ,or anyone outside the team circle, thinks. They know what they have to do to be in with a chance of winning.

And then there was two. Jim Gavin maintains that Dublin didnt perform in last years All Ireland. Had Mayo anything to do with that Jim?
