Mayo - Mayo v Roscommon

If this group of players hadn't ousted management two years ago Rochford may be well gone at this stage

Genuine question but do have any friends not from Roscommon? You just come across as someone who can see nothing but Roscommon and that anyone from anywhere (particularly Mayo) is the enemy. I really don't understand why you continue to b so bullish either. The way you were carrying on before Sunday it was a done deal, Roscommon were going to beat Mayo with comparative ease and there was nothing Mayo could do about it. How did this not come to pass?

I remember marking a ronaldson lad at schools level and he absolutely roasted me. He only appeared now and again for Mayo. Is he gone from the panel. Thought he'd be a star for ye

They didn't oust management. The management quit. They didn't have it in them to face down what they said were disruptive influences in the team. They, allegedly, told Breheny that they wanted the best for Mayo football. But when some players told them they'd go on strike if they didn't strike they hadn't thd bottle to face them down, see would they strike. They had nothing to lose at that stage anyway.

Don't listen to him john, blind optimism will get you through no matter what happens! They can't take that away from you!

Son and his family arrived home from holiday this evening a day early and tried to get tickets on line for the game. Terrace only being offered at 20euro each with no concessions for kids. This despite the stadium being only half full. The fact that he's tried umpteen times and had to join queues would suggest many others are also trying for tickets. Do they not want the crowd or do they insist on filling every single lower level and terrace spot before they open the upper level.

Replying To john1971:  "I take it Micklow your a mayo man in disguise. Sorry to let you down my friend Ross had more support yesterday and from what I am hearing a bigger Ross crowd is heading come Monday. Reading McConville's take on mayo "Embarrassing" made me realize the man is still bitter over 2013s club match against St.Brigids who went on to win the all Ireland that year. Mister McConville ,Tyrone will sort he out this weekend :-)"
John, you are a bit mixed up. St Brigids won Connacht club in 2011 beating Corofin, Salthill won the Galway title in 2012 and Rochford I don't think was involved with them when Brigids won it again. Rochford joined Corofin as assistant manager to Morris in Corofin in 2013, Castlebar beat them in Tuam by a point, before beating Brigids. Rochford was Corofin managing Corofin on his own in 2014 and won the Galway County title, Connacht( beating Ballintubber) and All Ireland in 2015. He won Galway again in 2015 before Castlebar beat them again in the 2015 Connacht final. Now Corofin won Galway and Connacht in 2016 and put the Kiltoom farce from 2011to bed (Liam Devenney) was even on the line in Carrick on Shannon but not even he could swing the match for Brigids on this occassion. I don't think Rochford has Roscommon baggage unless from his Crossmolina days.

Croke Park and the HSE have an agreement, get as many fans to sit in the lower tiers and let them drown in the rain and come the next few days doctor surgeries will be full with people with flu or colds and pneumonia

Huge conspiracy between the GAA & HSE. Although they're only targeting Mayo fans to stop us travelling to games. The Rossies are seen as collateral damage.

One step closer, but where are we at now ?????, Rossies never turned up or are we that good !!!! but looking forward to the semi...... big time.
Below is the team i would go for v Kerry, Bring Andy on for the last 15 minutes, huge lift to the fans & team. Disappointed Evan began didn't get on today, he's just lacking in confidence, 2nd half would have been ideal for him, he's young and the future, Dillon is finished, pointless call bringing him on. is Conor o' Shea injured ?

1. David Clarke
2. Brendan Harrison
3. Donal Vaughan
4. Keith Higgins
5. Colm Boyle
6. Chris Barret
7. Patrick Durcan
8. Lee Keegan
9. Tom Parsons
10. Kevin McLoughlin
11. Cillian o' Connor
12. Jason Doherty
13. Diarmuid o' Connor
14. Aidan O Shea
15. Conor Loftus

I hope yesterday's game will give some of the over-exuberant Rossies who appeared on these boards in recent weeks some pause for reflection, and maybe even a bit of new-found respect for their neighbours. I doubt it though...

I would have brought on Regan instead of Dillon. It was one negative from yesterday for me. Dillon has given great service to Mayo football but I fail to see what bringing him on yesterday was for? Regan needs game time for his confidence.

I attend a lot of games and I have to say that the craic with the Roscommon supporters on both days was top class. Very friendly group yesterday who we had fun and rivalry with before and during the game. We are all cut out of the same cloth - country people who enjoy themselves. Stop all the sniping and other rubbish. Leave that to other codes.
