Mayo - Mayo POTY 2017

Who has been Mayos best player to date this year and who do we expect will be our POTY at the end of the year. Last year Lee Keegan was our clear winner however no one has put their hand up for this accolade just yet while numerous players have impressed at various times - Aidan O Se in last two games (he was injured up to this point), Cillian O Connor from frees but we need more from him from play, Andy has been very impressive while he has been on the pitch but for some reason is an automatic sub after 60 minutes of every game. Others to impress at times are Kevin McLoughlin and Paddy Durcan. If we are to keep our championship run going into September we will need bigger performances from Cillian, Keegan, Higgins, DOC and everyone else. For me I think Andy has been most consistent but this may change if/when we progress to Croke Park

For what it's worth and it's mad early for this, but so far this year it has to be Clarke. Without his interventions we'd have nothing to look forward to right now but the start of a division 2 campaign next year. Outfield the names you mention stand out, particularly Aidan, but Tom Parsons deserves to be mentioned too. He's a player who has a lot of admirers outside the county, has a great engine combined with strong aerial ability, plus he works hard too. I'm hoping though that by the end of the campaign (hopefully not in Limerick!) one of the younger forwards will have a strong claim.
