Despite a below-par first-half display, Castlebar Mitchels' 'man-of-the-match' Paddy Durkan insisted their belief that they could overcome Crossmaglen Rangers never waivered.

The Mayo and Connacht champions came from behind to snatch a minimum margin victory in Kingspan Breffni Park and, speaking to TG4's GAA BEO shortly after the final whistle, Durkan said: "It was really, really tough going.

"I don't know what it was with the first-half, we didn't seem to perform at all.

"But, we knew we had to stick at it. We've confidence in ourselves and, thankfully, we dug it out.

"We always believed in ourselves. As I said, it was awful poor stuff from us in the first-half but, honestly, we had belief in ourselves that we could pull it back.

"We fell short two years ago (v St Vincent's) but we've given ourselves another chance on March 17th now."
