Hurling: Connacht U12 Skills Competition

October 05, 2015

Connacht GAA Coaching recently ran the inaugural U12 Hurling Team Skills competition, which was held in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence 3G Pitch.

Contestants from all five Connacht counties were present - with the winners and runners-up from each of the five Connacht county competitions invited to attend. The contestants on the night were Tooreen and Caiseal Gaels (Mayo), Naomh Eoin and Coolera/Strandhill (Sligo), Four Roads and St Doms (Roscommon), Ballinamore and Carrick (Leitrim) while Salthill/Knocknacarra represented Galway. All nine teams consisted of 4 players who were put through their paces on passing, catching, soloing and scoring. In the end it was Galway representatives Salthill/Knocknacarra who took the title with Tooreen (Mayo) finishing as runners-up.

'Connacht GAA Coaching would  like to thank all the clubs, players, parents and mentors for supporting this initiative - both in their county and at provincial level.'
