Andy Moran doesn't think either team holds an advantage going into next Saturday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay.
The former captain, who came off the bench to score two points - including the 69th minute equaliser - in Mayo's late comeback against Dublin yesterday, told RTE: "To be honest and I'll be straight, I remember last year in the Kerry game when we went down to Limerick to play them in the replay. I just thought it was a completely new game.
"I didn't think there was any power with any team and it showed - the game went to extra-time and it was really tight right up to the end of it. This game is probably going to be the same.
"Does anyone have the initiative? Maybe not. People like to live on that and say Mayo have it or Kerry have it or Dublin have it.
"But in my view, when the ball is thrown in next Saturday it is a completely new 70 minutes. We just don't know how it is going to go and hopefully we come out on top."
Moran lauded Cillian O'Connor for the coolness he showed in converting a late penalty.
"Five minutes left and four points down, biggest game of your career and you slot it in the corner like that. That shows massive, massive composure from a young lad. Cillian is only 22 or 23 years of age and it gives the team huge confidence. His set-plays kept us in the game for a lot of it," he added.
