Liam McHale believes Mayo supporters are only seeing the best of Aidan O'Shea since he moved to full forward.

The big Breaffy man has been a revelation since he switched from midfield to the edge of the square, scoring 3-4 alone in the Connacht final rout of Sligo. Speaking to the Irish Sun, McHale - who rotated between midfield and full forward during his own Mayo career - stated: "I've said it for four years that his position is full forward, especially with the team we have now.

"He's pretty much unmarkable in there, in the same way as Kieran Donaghy was when he was at his best.

"This is a more powerful, more direct way than Donaghy. I hope that we are patient and we can keep him in there as much as possible.

"The last day against Donegal we brought him out a bit, but there was no major challenge against him.

"We need to have him in there as much as possible and put that Dublin full back line, and Rory O'Carroll, in particular, under as much pressure as we possibly can."

Westmeath full forward John Heslin, meanwhile, says Dublin will have no option but to deploy a sweeper in front of O'Shea.

"They'll have to play a sweeper. I don't think they'll be able to manage him one-on-one to be honest," he told RTE.
